Let's face it, just how different is one machine from the next? Over the years I've owned dozens of computers and with the exception of newer and faster processors and operating systems, I don't think I can point to any machine being better then the other. However, if there ever was a problem or concern, it was the people behind the scene that made the difference.

Were they there when I called?
Did they answer my emails?
Did they do their best to make sure I was satisfied?

I could go on and on with that list, but I think you get the point. And the same holds true for web hosting companies. I've used many over the years and it's always the people that make the difference. I've used cheap web hosting with great support and I've used expensive web hosting with horrible support.

Of course, you should consider what type of features you need when you select your hosting company. There's no need to pay for services you have no use for, but if they're included and still affordable for you, don't shy away, you may need them in the future. Keep in mind that changing from one web hosting company to another is not a big deal, and just about all companies today offer at least a 30 day guarantee.  This gives you the ability to test drive your new host before making a total committment.
